I know most members of “Team Blackberry” have seen a QR code before. It was a feature included in one of the latest BBM versions. It allows you to send a BBM request just by using your camera. You scan the barcode with your camera and the request is automatically sent.
A QR Code is a matrix barcode (or two-dimensional code), readable by QR scanners, mobile phones with camera, and smartphones. The code consists of black modules arranged in a square pattern on white background. The information encoded can be text, URL or other data. (wikipedia)
I follow @clockwisedc on twitter and I saw them make a tweet and I had to do further investigation for myself. Here is what I found. You can create a QR Code here. If you have a Blackberry you can download BeeTagg and if you have an iPhone you can download QR app.
Who knows if these QR codes will really catch on, but its pretty cool to put on documents and it can be used as an easier way to transfer information from one person to another. Only time will tell how much data you will be able to embed in these bar codes in the future.
Try to download one of these apps and scan our QR code.
